about

Malc Stwey is releasing his debut album with Kolossus, Blurry Vision. A well produced, and lyrical album, surrounded by the theme of a hungry rapper from Florida, trying to chase his dreams. The high level of energy from the album is evident and can be felt throughout the album. From the production of lush pads, samples, and dark synths by Deez, this album draws a perfect picture, while Malc Stewy brings it alive. Having done collaborations with Kolossus members, Malc has been leaving his mark with each word he spits since he’s joined.

Since January 2013, a closet, mic, computer, and a vision, is all that Malc Stewy needed. He began his production of the album with Beautiful Wemen. Not yet knowing he’d join Kolossus, he held onto this project to perfect it over the course of his growth. This album embodies everything he believes are challenges in ones own life. Having a dream is something everyone can have, but chasing the dream is not an easy feat.

“To me, Blurry Vision is a metaphor describing the idea that i have a clear vision of what I want to do with my life long term. Which is to make music to give my self the power and funding to be able to bridge the gap for the talented musicians that are in the position I'm in today, lost. There are things that blur that vision though, such as the amount of other people with the same dreams and aspirations as myself. Distractions that come with drinking and smoking weed, other girls trying to shake things up with my relationship with my girl, trying to make sure I keep things tight in my relationship even though the path I'm choosing causes us to spend a lot of time apart, wanting to take music to a mainstream level but not wanting to deal with mainstream politics and making myself an object or an product in other words. The violence that goes on in my neighborhood, and making it my number one goal to not let myself get caught up in that, cops that racially profile people and abuse their powers. Resenting having to work in the service field and dealing with disrespectful customers. Pretty much the album is about life, problems that many people face in the years that they are finding themselves.” - Malc Stewy
